About Me

I love physics, space, engineering, gaming and management. It is a pretty weird mix, I must say.

🍼 Early days… !

The first application I wrote was a circle on a a black screen. I learned how to code from a university book I borrowed from my uncle . I was so excited! One step closer to making my own video game.

😎 Start of my journey

In 2005, I decided to get my bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering from Multimedia University, Malaysia. After my graduation, I joined an amazing company called SEB Bank. I began my professional journey as a Web Application Tester. I learned a lot about how to test an application and how to look for those edge cases that developers might miss out. My thirst for programming was still there since I was a manual tester. Lucky enough, I was given the opportunity to become a Java developer. Soon after, I was appointed as a Scrum Master who was delivery responsible for my team. I loved my team and my coach. We built a few mobile applications and portals for the bank.

🎓 Leveling up

It was at the end of 2015 when I decided to pursue my education. 2 years later, I graduated from California State University of Fresno in masters of Computer Science with GPA 4.0. It was time for me to go back home. So, I went back to SEB Bank. But, this time as a Senior Manager. I had two great teams. One was building applications for the Baltic regions. And another one was helping the bank with frontend applications.

🏡 Looking for a new home

I decided to take my journey to Canada. In 2019, I joined Bluecat as a Software Development Manager. There, I had two awesome teams too. A team was always ready to help customers with their issues. My second team was a smaller team, yet quite impressive achievers. They were helping build new features on the core product.

🦠 Don’t give up

The pandemic taught me how to stay focused on what matters. I learned how to stay strong and not give up. It also taught me what to do when I feel lost.

🔍 And now

I am happy to be a part of a fantastic team at Yelp.com where we build great looking search applications.
